Breakfast @ KFC isn’t that bad..

Having breakfast here over in Melaka for my university life has been rare. Not that I couldn’t wake up, the reason is that I couldn’t find friends (drivers) who can wake up early enough to have breakfast with me, not until I have my car.

This early morning, Ser and LWL joined me for breakfast @ KFC, the breakfast that I’ve always wanted to try.

Personally I didn’t expect much from KFC due the the boringness impression that KFC had given me, but after this breakfast, I thought that KFC wasn’t as bad.

I ordered a KFC “Nasi Lemak Enak”. The rice was not bad, but the sambal was too fine and not spicy at all, probably it’s because they need consistency in all the KFC branches and can’t get those old makcik makcik (auntie in Malay) to prepare deliciously hot and spicy sambal.

Typical Malaysian breakfast.

For the price of RM7.04 (add a piece of chicken), it’s not worth it. Might as well eat at any road side mamak stall.

Ser ordered the KFC Egg Wrap, and he totally recommended me to try on that.

A Nasi Lemak isn’t enough to fill up my dark hole, I reckon and ordered another KFC Egg Wrap. It looked so similar to those Roti Canai served at those mamak stall. It’s a thick fried egg, slices of chicken burger, and lettuce wrapped with a hot pita bread, topped with mayonnaise and cheese.

Roti Canai with the KFC wrapper. LOL!

Cheesy cheese!!!

It tasted AWESOME! I love it a lot, and it’s really filling.

Real thick eggs inside.

Every single bite there’s cheese sticking onto my mouth, with the chicken and egg just enough to make a nutritious breakfast. *recommended*

My housemate, LWL ordered the KFC Sausage combo, which comes with 2 sausages, squared scramble egg, mashed potato and a bun. It was a pretty normal set, nothing much to comment about.

Simple, and healthy.

Of course, all the sets comes with a choice of Tea and Coffee.

Teh’O satu!

What I like about the KFC breakfast :

  • The sets are mostly quite feeling compared to the MCD breakfast.
  • The egg they serve consists of almost 2-3 egg sized, it’s a large portion!
  • I love cheesy breakfast!
  • The Tea is so much better then MCD’s Boh Tea.
  • Healthy.
  • Nobody eating –> Not crowded.
  • Food served are hot, or at least warm.

What I dislike about KFC breakfast :

  • They serve real slow. It tooked about 10 minutes to prepare the Egg Wrap. (depends on individual branch)
  • My favourite Cheesy Wedges isn’t served!
  • Drinks are not refillable.
  • I still prefer Hot&Spicy Chicken then OR Chicken.

Anyhow, if you haven’t tried KFC Breakfast, you should have a try.

In my opinion, the breakfast in KFC is even healthier then the breakfast in McDonalds. What do you think ?

Saw your post here, and this am, Kevin n I went to KFC near S.Square to give the breakfast a try. We ordered one egg wrap and one Chicken platter meal. We think it’s a so-so nia. I would prefer a hearty Sub-Way breakfast which is priced at RM5.90 as compared to KFC of RM6.00-6.90.

Carol - It’s nice, if they prepare it with lotsa cheese. Melaka don’t have SubWay ler, don’t tempt me =( Anyway, SubWay is still quite far from my house, still prefer the nearer ones like KgJawa charkoayteow LOL!
