Teo Soon Long Chan re-visited.

Well, we decided to reward ourself after all our hard work, and also the 90minutes of nervous period by re-visiting the lovely Teo Soon Long Chan.

It wasn’t hard to reach the place with LWL’s good navigation. It was almost 1.30pm, and shockingly we were the only customer, again, which made me thinking whether is the place really still that popular or not.

To satisfy our charbo needs, we ordered again the oyster noodles, which is really their house specialty. It’s basically the best oyster noodles I’ve had. The oyster were especially fresh, and juicy. (Damn I am drooling while writing this.. -.-)

Big juicy oyster..

As we are really on a tight budget, we didn’t order crabs this time. Instead, we ordered soft shell crabs, which are so much cheaper lolz! The crabs were deep fried until crispy, then served with sweet sauce. However I am not a fan of sweet sauce, I dip the crab with one of the sour sauce, which tasted so much better.

Deep fried soft shell crabs.

The kangkung belacan we ordered didn’t taste good. I don’t know how in the end this dish tasted sweet, and I don’t like it. In fact, we thought that it’s hard to find simple kangkung belacan to meet the standard from Penang. Sad.

Kangkung Belacan.

Drunk prawns. Now this is something special where the chef recommended us. It’s actually prawns cooked in the soup together with mushrooms, ginger slices, and some chinese herbs. I don’t know what it’s called in english, but I know it’s from the ginseng family. Any idea?

Big bowl of soup, just nice for the three of us.

The prawns was normal but the soup was perfect. It’s not too thick, yet not too plain. The soup had the right amount of herb, prawns sweetness, and also cooking alcohol. It’s GOOD!

See the herbs? Identify it!

Well, a meal isn’t a meal until it is ended with a dessert. At Teo Soon Long Chan, they have the yam paste for you to die for.

Yam dessert with steam pumpkin and ginko.

If not mistaken, they have those easy pack for sale in Supermarkets (I don’t know which one. Carrefour maybe?) and also they do export this yam dessert to Singapore. Spot it. Of course, fresh ones taste so much better.

Drooling aren’t you?

Shockingly, the price was at a reasonable RM88 for the three of us. Gladly we paid and went to have a walk in Jonker.

Interested to know how typical teo chews they are? See how they hang their shorts/singlets/underwear. It’s IN the shop, right in front of the table behind the counter. Great.

Typical.. Real typical..

Something scary happened while we were walking around Jonker Street, but that’s gonna wait till the next post.

Heehe.
